Public Health Order to Reopen the Tribe to Phase 3.5

On 6/29/2021 the Business Committee passed resolution 80-21 which moves the Tribe into Phase 3.5 Summary of changes include: Remove mask requirement for vaccinated staff (exceptions for staff of the Health Department, and those that work with populations not yet eligible for the COVID vaccine (children), HOL, some social services staff) and guests/visitors/customers. Due to excessive heat/weather conditions Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe’s administrative offices, Health/Dental Clinic, Klallam Counseling Services, and Children’s House of Learning will be closed on Monday, June 28th, 2021. Lower Elwha Food & Fuel, the Cedar Box, and Elwha Peaks will remain open for business.

LEKT American Rescue Plan Act Distribution

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law by the President. Section 9901 of ARPA amended Title VI of the Social Security Act (the Act) to add section 602, which establishes the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund, and section 603, which establishes the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (together, the Fiscal Recovery Funds). Introducing the Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program has been funded by the Department of Treasury to assist those who have been unable to pay rent and/or utilities due to the pandemic. Below is information about eligibility and where you can locate an application. Freezer Update!

The freezers are coming, I promise they are, it’s still a thing that is happening. But, the hopeful early arrival is more realistically throughout the month of June. Here is what we know so far, as I learn more I will provide updates: Small Chest freezers:  24 should arrive the week of June 8th, and delivery/install will be coordinated through the vendor. Large Chest freezers:  Currently in production, with a future shipment date.
